Training

All Forest School sessions must be led by a trained Forest School leader. That means a minimum Level 3 qualification on the UK Open College Network.

To date, training in Ireland has been facilitated by two Irish Organisations – Forest School Ireland working with Circle of Life Training and Down to Earth Forest School working with Huathe.

Both organisations explain their approaches below.

Irish Level 6 Certificate in Forest School Leadership validated by QQI

Two courses are due to start in June 2023 ( subject to final validation by QQI). All the information you need is HERE

You must register your interest directly with Brigit’s Garden in Co. Galway, by 12th April, using the above link.

Due to anticipated demand for the first two courses, we will only release the opening date for applications to people on the Brigit’s Garden list. If you have any queries you can direct these to the course organiser through the webpage link above.

The IFSA is also working towards a quality assurance scheme over the coming years.

Other Forest School leaders in Ireland have obtained their qualifications directly in the UK or elsewhere.
